Hands on Topeka is a church-sponsored event in the Topeka area. The congregations in the Topeka area spend the Sunday following Easter rolling up their sleeves and making Topeka a better place to live through service. Through advertising in the community, people outside the church are invited to participate in the project side-by-side with the church members. Projects have included park clean-up and sprucing up the grounds at the local humane society. This ad was used in local churches to encourage participation in the event.

I developed the concept and collaborated on the production with a member of my staff, who brought my dream to life.

Hands on Topeka also uses social media for promotion. In 2012, social media took on a greater role in the project. The number of Facebook likes doubled. Twitter has been a less effective means of promoting the event and has only a handful of followers.
